Customer Reviews HMC SmartOrder

HMC Polymers is constantly striving to improve our overall customer service package and experience. We announced the implementation of our SmartOrder System in July, allowing existing customers the opportunity to order materials online. SmartOrder is accessed through the HMC Polymers' website via PCs, tablets and smartphones and the system provides "Smart" features such as Create, Search, Print and Save functionalities that help to make your HMC order easy to initiate and track. The SmartOrder System is available for use 24 hours per day, and once initiated, the order progress can be followed in real time.

We think the SmartOrder system is simple and intuitive, but our customers are the ones who are now using it. For HMCConnect Q4 we decided to interview one such corporate customer to determine what were the advantages of SmartOrder and where could it perhaps be improved in the next version?

HMC interviewed Khun Amnard Kittikrairit, Director of Thai Film Industries Public Company Limited.

When asked about the operating advantages of SmartOrder Khun Amnard said he thought the online process are logical and the process steps are easy to understand. He likes the fact that the SmartOrder process allows Thai Film to select the PP grades and volumes required, place orders, confirm prices and then confirm the final payment in one sequence. He is also pleased with the ability SmartOrder provides to approve his orders anywhere and anytime without restriction.

What are the possible improvements Khun Amnard sees for SmartOrder? Firstly, he would like to see a SmartOrder version for mobile devices, of course ensuring that system security is stringent.

Another suggested feature for the future would be a statistical customer history providing information of past purchases such as volumes, application grades, time of purchase, buying behaviors, prices and perhaps more. That capability is certainly one to be considered in the next generation version offered to HMC customers

In addition, Khun Amnard suggested consideration to be given to a chat log history between HMC and the Purchasing Dept of Thai Film. This would allow referral to past communications and purchases to speed up approvals. Also, he said that if the HMC production schedule was part of Smart Order information for customers this would allow simplified planning for purchases throughout the calendar year.

Khun Amnard said that as part of the strategic partnership between HMC and Thai Film SmartOrder has certainly been a welcome addition to the HMC customer service package and if some of his suggestions were implemented in the next version of SmartOrder the system would be one additional step toward increased efficiency, which is always welcome.
