HMC Polymers’ customers have the choice of multiple sources for purchasing HMC PP grades.

They can either buy directly from HMC Polymers; through our joint venture associates; or via distributors and sub agents.

Recently there has been a number of exciting new materials introduced into the HMC PP portfolio and on July 19th it was our pleasure to host many of our valued marketing partners in Bangkok for a technical seminar to explain the new products in detail.

The value proposition, technical aspects and target group for each product was discussed and questions were answered by the HMC Technology and Sales teams.

The following new products were presented:

Moplen HP649T
HP649T is a high flow PP homopolymer with an excellent stiffness/impact balance and superior clarity for thin wall injection moulding. HP649T was developed for manufacturers seeking a resin which offers the right balance of processability in combination with superior end-use properties for thin wall injection moulding (TWIM) applications.

In addition, Moplen HP649T, has been designed to provide excellent flow behaviour suitable for high speed injection processes and delivers an excellent stiffness/impact balance with high levels of transparency and gloss.

Moplen HP748H
HP748H was created for manufacturers looking for excellent processability and end-use performance in thermoforming applications. The grade is a high performance PP homopolymer with an outstanding stiffness/impact balance and excellent clarity for thermoforming.

Moplen HP748H offers very good drawability for efficient processing in high speed forming processes and provides excellent top and side load as well as impact properties.

Moplen EP229R
EP229R is a PP heterophasic copolymer, designed to deliver processing and end-use benefits to today’s high-tech raffia products. High performing woven raffia bags require a coating layer to prevent leakage, contain product contents and to improve fabric strength.

Moplen EP229R is applicable for use in small woven raffia bags, PP woven canvas and can be used effectively for jumbo bags when customers require extra stiffness capabilities.

Moplen EP6036
EP6036 is a high performance PP heterophasic copolymer which offers a good combination of properties and processability for coating. Moplen EP6036 is an ideal choice for manufacturers seeking a grade with the right blend of processing and end-use benefits for BOPP and CPP coating applications.

In addition, Moplen EP6036, has been tailored to run effectively on new high speed machines and provides cost benefits for additional coating applications including: woven sacks, jumbo bags and paper.

Moplen RP346R
RP346R is a PP random copolymer that has been successfully used by customers for the production of bottles made by thin wall injection moulding (TWIM) and injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM). RP346R also offers processing and end-use benefits for food and household containers, and furniture.
