The theme of this year's PACCON was "THAILAND: One Hundred Years of Advancement in Chemistry". In keeping with the theme, PACCON 2016 featured 11 scientific sessions and 3 special symposia showcasing various aspects of how far pure and applied chemistry in Thailand has come in the past 100 years.

In addition to trade fair exhibits from industry suppliers of chemical products, the conference provided a common ground for scientists from all over the world to present new ideas, exchange experiences, gain insights in advanced chemistry research and education, and share entrepreneurial initiatives through discussion panels, seminars, and presentations scheduled over the three days of the event.

Visitors included interested parties from the chemical industry and academia, including graduates and post graduates. Leading chemical industry suppliers mounted exhibits for the event including HMC Polymers and other petrochemical companies located in Thailand.
