HMC Receives 3Rs Awards
HMC Polymers was recently recognised by the Thai Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry, when it received 3 awards from the 3R's Awards program given to environmentally active manufacturers for their clean and green practices, encouraging the industrial sector to be more environmentally friendly.
The awards comprised a "3R's Award" given to both the HMC PP and PDH plants and also a "Zero Waste to Landfill Achievement Award" given to the PP plant. The Zero Waste to Landfill Award was based on the commitment of HMC and joint venture associate PTT through their corporate sustainability initiatives to reduce all waste previously disposed of in a landfill with the objective of reducing waste to zero by 2020.
The Department of Industrial Works hosted the annual event to recognise operators of manufacturing plants in Thailand who have participated in the department’s waste management project which aims to recycle and properly treat industrial waste, as part of the government’s effort to protect the environment and natural resources.
Reduce | Reuse | Recycle
The 3R's awarded companies have demonstrated proven success in waste management in compliance with 3R's principle of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle while Zero Waste to Landfill Awards are given to companies with successful waste management systems and the capability to properly utilize all waste generated from the production process.
Plant owners have reported that this initiative has helped to focus significant awareness on socially responsible operations. The department presented awards in the categories of: 3R's Awards, 3R's Plus Awards and Zero Waste to Landfill Achievement Awards.
HMC congratulates our dedicated employees who have enthusiastically embraced the 3R's environmental objectives with their energy and ideas.
