HMC Polymers joins hands with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Thailand Environment Institute to Launch Pilot Project for Household Waste Sorting in Bangkok Condominiums

Building on the success of PP Reborn, a PP plastic waste management platform initiated by HMC Polymers Company Limited, Thailand’s first and largest manufacturer and distributor of premium-grade PP resin and a leading player in Southeast Asia, the platform has gained widespread recognition and strong partnerships across Bangkok and other provinces.

As a result, HMC Polymers has been invited by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Thailand Environment Institute to participate in the Pilot Project for Household Waste Sorting in Bangkok Condominiums, which was officially launched at a press conference on 12 February 2026 at Hotel Nikko Bangkok.

The Pilot Project for Household Waste Sorting in Bangkok Condominiums was initiated by the BMA to present an operational model that can serve as a prototype for waste management in high-rise condominium buildings. The project will initially be implemented in Khlong Toei and Watthana districts, aiming to foster shared environmental responsibility. The initiative aligns with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Ordinance on Service Fees for the Management of Sewage or Solid Waste under the Public Health Act B.E. 2568 (2025), which encourages the public to sort waste at source to reduce waste generation in line with the “no mixed waste” approach. This model is expected to be scalable and contribute to the sustainable enhancement of Bangkok’s waste management standards.

HMC Polymers plan to actively contribute to the project by utilizing PP Reborn as a tool for managing PP plastic waste, enabling them to be reintegrated into the production cycle. This approach helps reduce the consumption of virgin resources, minimize residual waste in the environment, and lower carbon emissions associated with waste management and landfilling—supporting Bangkok’s vision to become one of the world’s most livable capital cities.
