New TWIM Grade Saves Energy

Packaging manufacturers and injection moulders supplying to the packaging industry are constantly looking for possibilities to improve productivity and save cost while ensuring products maintain their end-use properties. To save manufacturing costs in a competitive environment, lowering injection temperatures and reducing cycle times can make a significant impact.

HMC is pleased to introduce Moplen HP6057, a newly developed very high melt flow homopolymer PP with an excellent stiffness/impact balance and superior clarity for thin wall injection moulding (TWIM).

Moplen HP6057 was developed for manufacturers who need a resin with improved processing capabilities in combination with the same excellent end-use properties for thin wall injection moulding applications as delivered by HMC's current benchmark resins Moplen HP544T or Moplen HP649T.

Moplen HP6057 has been especially designed to provide excellent flow behaviour suitable for the latest high speed injection processes and to deliver a good combination of stiffness/impact balance with high transparency and gloss.

Moplen HP6057 also provides superior dimensional stability for moulded parts as well as the same known impact performance of the current benchmark grades, reducing the incidence of breakage for thin wall injection mouldings.

The improved properties of Moplen HP6057 allow a reduction of the injection temperature, providing energy savings, as well as lower mould wear. In addition, Moplen HP6057 offers the possibility to shorten cycle times thanks to the lower moulding temperatures as well as rapid crystallisation behaviour.
