The Next Journey of HMC Polymers

The ground breaking ceremony for the forthcoming PP Plant Line IV took place on February 27, 2020 at the HMC Polymers Map Ta Phut site.

Chaired by Khun Patiparn Sukorndhaman, Chairman of HMC Polymers Board of Directors, the ceremony was attended by over 250 guests including Khun Yuthapon Ongarjithichai, Deputy Rayong governor, customers, suppliers, community leaders and HMC staff. Khun Siridech Kumvongdee, President of HMC Polymers also reported that the new PP Line IV Plant is scheduled for start-up in the first half of 2022.

The ceremony consisted of:

  • Guests assembled at the site for commencement
  • Buddhist Ceremony
  • Opening speech and reporting of project by HMC Polymers President, Khun Siridech Kumvongdee
  • Congratulatory speech by the Chairman of the Ceremony, Khun Patiparn Sukorndhaman
  • Ground-breaking by Khun Patiparn, Khun Yuthapon, Khun Siridech, HMC Polymers' Directors and Executive Committee’s members
  • Ceremony Conclusion

The new HMC PP Line IV will have an annual capacity of 250 KT, bringing HMC’s total PP capacity of 4 production lines to over 1,000 KT, maintaining the company's position as SE Asia’s largest PP producer. The Line IV using the latest version of the leading Spherizone Technology, will be the most advanced PP Plant ever built, incorporating unique capabilities to support HMC in our mission to significantly expand PP product performance and provide customers with an increasingly differentiated portfolio of products.

As a small memento of the ground-breaking ceremony, attendees received a food box with the body produced from the non-phthalate grade Moplen RP6110. (HMC’s newest grades Moplen RP6110, RP6111, and RP6112 have been developed to respond to the growing market demand for non-phthalate materials.)

The PP Line IV project has been described as more than simply a new plant and additional capacity, but rather the next step in the evolution of HMC as a company and PP leader in Asia.

HMC has engaged a highly experienced project team under the leadership of Khun Sawangpong Kingsuwanvong, formerly HMC Site Manager with granular knowledge of every HMC plant to date. The plant builder, GS E&C brings similarly experienced resources and we are pleased to be partners again following the successful construction of HMC’s PP Plant Line III.

We are excited about this new development and look forward to announcing the opening of HMC Polymers PP Plant Line IV in 2022!
