PP Reborn launched at KMUTNB Rayong Driving a comprehensive green university initiative

On 18 June 2026, HMC Polymers Company Limited (HMC Polymers), through its corporate communication and CSR department, collaborated with King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus (KMUTNB Rayong), to provide educational sessions on the benefits of polypropylene (PP) plastics and the proper PP plastic waste management through the PP Reborn platform.

The sessions were delivered to 840 first-year students (across 14 orientation sessions) during the university’s freshman orientation program for academic year 2026. The primary objective was to raise awareness among young people about proper PP plastic waste management, promoting resource circularity, reducing carbon emissions from landfill disposal, and leveraging HMC Polymers’ expertise to enhance quality of life for all.

Following the educational sessions, students completed a knowledge assessment. The results showed that participants achieved a knowledge and understanding level of 70%.

As the next step, HMC Polymers plans to install PP Reborn Drop Points across the university campus and collaborate with the university to integrate resource and waste management concepts into its academic curriculum. These initiatives will further support KMUTNB Rayong’s vision of becoming a truly green university in every dimension.
