HMC Polymers partners with Channel 3 and Thailand Post, to encourage Thais Nationwide to join PP plastic waste management campaign
HMC Polymers company limited (HMC Polymers) a leading manufacturer of premium-grade PP (polypropylene) resin in Southeast Asia, has joined forces with prominent Thai partners, including Thai TV Channel 3, Thailand Post company limited, Ecoblue company limited, and the Horse brand, launching a national awareness campaign on PP plastic waste management named “ล้านพลัง แต้มสีเติมฝันให้น้อง รร. ตชด.”
The initiative, “ล้านพลัง แต้มสีเติมฝันให้น้อง รร. ตชด.” aims to educate the public about the proper PP plastic waste management especially PP plastic food packaging, advocating for their reprocessing into valuable products to reduce the need for new resources and minimize environmental waste following the principles of a circular economy. Additionally, the project will convert used PP plastics waste into watercolor sets, which its cases are made from recycled PP resin, to be donated to students at Border Patrol Schools.
HMC Polymers and its business partner, Ecoblue, will process the used PP plastics waste into recycled PP (RPP) resin. This recycled resin will then be used by the Horse brand to manufacture the watercolor sets. Thailand Post will assist in collecting used PP plastic waste from citizens nationwide. At the same time, Channel 3 will act as the primary media sponsor and coordinator for the project.
HMC Polymers invites all Thais to participate by sending in used PP plastic packaging, such as ready-to-eat food trays, yogurt cups, ice cream containers, Thai noodle baskets, and plastic drinking cups (clear or opaque, with or without prints). All must have recycling symbol no.5 beneath the packaging, indicating PP plastic. Label and sticker must remove, cleaned, and dried before sending in following the detailed guidelines below.
- Send to any post offices nationwide at no cost : Pack the PP plastic waste in boxes, seal them securely, and ensure each box weighs no more than 5 kilograms. - Drop off in person : At Laksi post office, Bangkok, or at any of the 6 PP Reborn Drop Points across Bangkok, and one Drop Point in Rayong (for Drop Point locations, check Facebook: PP Reborn – ชุบชีวิต PP กับ HMC Polymers)
