HMC Polymers hosted the CCPS Southeast Asia Regional Meeting to achieve operational excellence in process safety

Khun Vasun Subanake, Senior Vice President, manufacturing and operational excellence, HMC Polymers company limited (HMC Polymers) presided over an official opening ceremony of CCPS Southeast Asia regional meeting which hosted by HMC Polymers and Center of Chemical Process Safety (CCPS). There were more than 10 companies in petrochemical and refinery business in Southeast Asia such as GC, SCG , BIG, ECOLAB, SIEMENS, NSRP, Solvey etc. joining an event at Holiday Inn Pattaya hotel, Chonburi, Thailand.

“CCPS or Center of Chemical Process Safety is governed by American Institute of Chemical Engineers or AIChE, the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals which focuses on an improvement of industrial process safety, whose members are manufacturers, government agencies, consultants, academic and insurers. And this event is one of the keys to drive and standardize industrial process safety by sharing and learning experiences and case studies among the members with 3 factors as followed :

  • Creating environment that process safety is everyone’s responsibilities
  • Non-blaming culture is incident accountability
  • Leader commitment and communication is another key parameter to elevate level of process safety” said Khun Vasun.

Additionally, one of the activity highlights is a panel discussion “The role of leaders in process safety incident investigation", moderated by Mr. Shakeel Kadri, Executive Director & CEO, of CCPS. Khun Kunthira Kheanprasit, Process Safety Manager of HMC Polymers joined as a panelist.
