HMC Polymers company limited or HMC Polymers, Thailand's first and largest producer and distributor of polypropylene or PP resin proceed to open the 4th production line of the polypropylene plant (PP4 plant) on an area of more than 25 rais in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province, with an investment budget of more than 8,000 million baht, reinforcing its leadership in the PP resin industry in Southeast Asia. This 4th production line will increase HMC Polymers' production capacity from 810,000 tons per year to 1,060,000 tons per year.

Mr. Siridej Khumwongdee, President to HMC Polymers, said that for almost 40 years, HMC Polymers has continuously developed every aspect of its work including expanding production capacity to meet the demand for high-quality PP resin in the market both domestically and internationally. The construction of the 4th production line, which began in 2020 and was completed in the last quarter of 2022 and features the latest Spherizone technology of LyondellBasell, a shareholder of HMC Polymers, therefore, PP resin from this 4th production line are specialty grade and differentiated grades, different from other PP producers in the market which can be many product applications such as ;

Medical and hygiene products: In line with the current situation of the world that gives priority to raise the quality of human life, especially helping to reduce the spread of communicable diseases and the emergence of new diseases.

Rigid and flexible packaging: Meeting customer needs or users that change rapidly according to the era through a variety of designs and functions with special properties that are different from other types of plastic.

Finally, a large group of industrial parts: Helping to drive Thailand's industrial sector to grow and develop in line with other civilized countries.

In addition to operational excellence policy, the construction of the 4th production line also considered the environment and sustainability. The construction of ground flare towers has been undertaken to reduce pollution from combustion at elevated flares, thereby reducing environmental impacts, good control of black smoke including reducing noise and light. The next goal of HMC Polymers is the “Zero Flare Project” to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

HMC Polymers has also focused on reducing the use of new resources in accordance with the global Circular Economy principle by launching the "PP Reborn platform” with several partners to collect used plastics through drop points in various areas, especially PP plastic to be recycled or upcycled to create a social impact for the greatest benefit to all life in society.
