HMC Chemical Inventories Compliant

Before a particular chemical can be imported, used in manufacturing or processed in certain countries, the chemical substance must be in compliance with that country’s official chemical registration.
Those countries set their own standards and require all domestic companies manufacturing or importing chemical substances to register those chemicals before the importation and production is commenced. Currently there are 10 countries or zones around the world (per the list below) that publish a chemical inventory regulatory for chemicals:
- United States – Toxics Substances Control Act Inventory (TSCA)
- Europe – EINECS/ELINCS replaced by REACH
- Canada – Domestic Substances List (DSL)
- Australia – Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS)
- Korea – Korean Existing Chemicals List (KECL)
- Japan – Japanese Inventory of Existing and New Chemical Substances (ENCS)
- The Philippines – Philippines Inventory of Chemicals and Chemical Substances (PICCS)
- China – Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances Manufactured or Imported in China (IECSC)
- New Zealand – New Zealand Inventory of Chemicals (NZIoC)
- Taiwan – National Existing Chemical Inventory in Taiwan
All ingredients in the HMC product range are in compliance with all chemical inventories. We declare the chemical inventory in our HMC RAPIDS (Regulatory Affairs Product Stewardship Information/Certification Data Sheet) which are downloadable for each commercialized product grade sold.
In addition, HMC Polymers has now adopted the trusted international food contact standards of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for all polypropylene grades. The FDA regulation (U.S. FDA) describes the allowed limits of any possible substance migration (e.g. additives) into plastics, when coming in contact with food.
HMC Polymers' customers have the confidence that the HMC PP grades they use to manufacture finished products will be in compliance with National Chemical Inventories and also if required, be applicable for food contact. That's two things less to worry about. For more information, contact HMC Polymers Sales at: sales@hmcpolymers.com
