Pandemic Assistance for Hospitals

HMC has been active with donations to hospitals requiring assistance in the fight against COVID-19.

Thailand has weathered the first and second waves of the global COVID-19 pandemic and is now battling a third wave which has unfortunately increased the rate of infections, critical care hospital admissions and deaths across the country. The scale of this third wave has shocked authorities and placed significant challenges on hospital facilities and critical care medical staff.

During the first and second waves of the pandemic HMC's Community Response Program donated needed PPE items nationwide with a focus on field hospitals located in provinces which, due to the incidence of COVID-19, were identified as high risk such as Samutsakorn, Rayong, Pathumthani and others in the Eastern Thailand area.

HMC is continuing its donations in this 3rd wave by responding to the need for efficient critical care equipment for patients, particularly those in intensive care units (ICU).

Five High Flow Nasal Cannula units (HFNC) have been donated to main hospitals receiving critical patients including Thammasat University Hospital, Vajira Hospital and Bamrasnaradula Institute (all located in Bangkok); Chonburi Hospital (Chonburi), and Banchang Hospital (Rayong).

In addition to the HFNC unit donated to Thammasat U. Hospital, we also donated 50 acrylic partitions and 5 movable Blood Pressure Monitoring devices. Thammasat U. Hospital, along with other leading hospitals, is a main hub for vaccination of Thai citizens and the donations of acrylic partitions and blood pressure monitoring devices (BPMD) are necessary for those ongoing public health services. The total donation value made by HMC to Thammasat U. Hospital was THB 600,000.

On Thursday, May 27th, the HMC leadership team led by Khun Siridech Kumvongdee - President, Khun Pornchai Pichitwutikorn - SVP Business Strategy, Innovation, and Commercial, and Khun Angkanee Soonthornsawad - VP, Finance, Accounting & Corporate Support, were present to meet and thank hospital officials at a brief hand-over session to the Chairman of the hospital's Executive Board, Dr. Surapol Nitikraipoj, and Director of Thammasat University Hospital, Dr. Paruhas Tor-Udom.
