HMC Supports Food for Fighters

A pioneering project by a Thai restaurateur to provide food to frontline workers fighting COVID-19 has been making a positive impact during the pandemic.

Panchana Vatanasathien, the owner of the PenLaos restaurant and the originator of the "Food for Fighters" project, said: "Since frontline healthcare workers are working hard to help all of us get through this situation, I wanted to help provide them with food and, at the same time, help the restaurant business move forward in this difficult period."

Along with other ongoing initiatives, HMC Polymers is pleased to be contributing PP resin Moplen HP640U to be converted into over 14,000 food boxes to support the worthy Food for Fighters volunteer project.

To produce the food boxes HMC is once again partnering with our key customer, Ruangwa Standard Industry Co., Ltd. a world-class plastic products manufacturer – this is HMC's second co-production project with Ruangwa in support of our indispensable frontline heroes.

The food boxes donated by HMC, Ruangwa and other manufacturers are sent for fulfilment to local participating restaurants and kitchens. Once loaded, they are delivered to medical personnel, particularly in COVID-19 clusters; needy communities and workers, field and main hospitals in the 25 districts of Bangkok and also perimeter districts including COVID Red area provinces including Kanchanaburi, Nakorn Ratchasima, Pathumthani, Nonthaburi and others.

The Food for Fighters project has now been in operation since the first wave of COVID-19 in 2020. Around 50% of the project volunteers are donating their time and energy despite having lost their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic because "Everyone is a Fighter". We congratulate all contributors to this important community initiative.

HMC Polymers would like to recognize and sincerely thank Ruangwa for its generous spirit of collaboration during this difficult period.
