HMC Polymers continues second round of knowledge sharing at Bangkok University Empowering the next generation to manage PP plastic waste sustainably
Following the success of its first knowledge-sharing session on sustainable polypropylene (PP) plastic waste management, delivered to more than 1,000 first-year students at Bangkok University in the first quarter of 2026, HMC Polymers has continued its efforts to raise awareness among the younger generation. The initiative also included a pilot implementation of the PP Reborn platform, which supports the collection and PP plastic waste management across the university campus.
Today, September 9, 2026, HMC Polymers Company Limited, in collaboration with Bangkok University faculty members and staff, conducted the second round of knowledge sharing for the university’s first-year students of the 2026 academic year.
The initiative aims to foster greater understanding among young people of the significant value of PP plastics and the importance of proper post-consumer management. Effective management of PP plastic waste not only helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills but also reduces the need for virgin resources by keeping plastics in circulation and giving them a new useful life in accordance with the principles of circularity.
Bangkok University is one of HMC Polymers’ sustainability partners and a key participant in the PP Reborn platform, which is being actively implemented to promote the effective management of PP plastic waste across the campus. The initiative is also being piloted and actively implemented at other educational institutions, including Chulalongkorn University, Srinakharinwirot University (Prasarnmit and Ongkharak campuses), and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (Rayong Campus).
