HMC Polymers joins forces with IEAT Signs MOU on closed-loop resource and waste material management in industrial estates
On the morning of 10 July 2026, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Closed-Loop Resource and Waste Material Management within the Map Ta Phut Complex Industrial Estate.
The event was hosted by Mr. Sumet Tangprasert, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), who delivered the opening remarks and signed the MOU together with representatives from 24 participating companies, including HMC Polymers Company Limited, at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.
The MOU aims to promote the efficient use of resources and support the development of resource management systems for non-used materials. Under the agreement, a dedicated working committee will be established to drive and facilitate industrial symbiosis among factories within the Map Ta Phut Complex Industrial Estate. The initiative will encourage knowledge sharing, exchange of best practices, and collaborative recommendations to improve resource efficiency. It will also support the development of a database of non-used materials and a resource-matching system to facilitate the exchange and utilization of such materials between factories. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to strengthen the linkage between industrial estate operators and licensed waste management and recycling service providers located outside the industrial estate, enabling greater resource recovery and utilization.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Corso Uzielli, President of HMC Polymers, stated:
"Today, sustainability has become an integral part of business operations across industries. However, by joining forces and working toward a common goal, we can create a much greater collective impact. This MOU marks an important first step in strengthening collaboration among companies within the Map Ta Phut Complex Industrial Estate. As a member of the industrial community, HMC Polymers is committed to supporting and promoting this initiative, which is fully aligned with our three sustainability pillars: Circularity, Carbon Reduction, and Connectivity."
