Bangkok, July 24, 2025 – The Plastics Institute of Thailand, in collaboration with Engel Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a global leader in plastic molding machinery, organized the seminar titled “Advance Injection Molding Technology for Medical Device Manufacturing” at the Tonkla Building, Plastics Institute of Thailand. The event aimed to promote and enhance the capabilities of the Thai plastics industry to effectively support the growing demand in the medical device and equipment sector.

On this occasion, HMC Polymers presented a valuable opportunity for knowledge-sharing, with a team of executives led by Ms. Kessaraporn Trongtorsak, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Innovation, accompanied by Mr. Manikandan Rathinakumar, Department Manager of Innovation and Technical Support, and Ms. Chonnikarn Deeprasertkul, Specialties Segment Manager, to be the guest speakers. Together, they provided insightful presentations on HMC Polymers’ specially developed polypropylene (PP) grades for medical applications. The session highlighted not only the well-established grades but also the newly developed products, which effectively address the diverse needs of manufacturers and end-users, fostering innovation and collaboration in the industry.

These advanced PP materials are suitable for both domestic use and international export, having been certified to meet major global standards such as the European Pharmacopoeia (EP), United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and Drug Master File (DMF) requirements.

The seminar emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and academia in sharing knowledge and advancing technological trends. It underscored the critical role of high-precision injection molding technology in raising Thailand’s plastics industry to international standards, particularly within the medical sector, which plays a vital role both domestically and globally.
