On November 24th 2023, at Park Silom, Bangkok, Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, the advisor to the Governor of Bangkok represented Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok, presided over the launching ceremony of "Silom Model Project" in collaboration with the private sector association "We Love Silom" and the local community. The project advocates for the separation of "Food Waste" from "General Waste" aligning with the waste separation policy of the Bangkok Governor. The initiative aims to create a waste separation model that extends to the district level, addressing the end-of-life waste problem by promoting comprehensive waste separation. This involves separating waste at the source to reduce waste generation and manage waste effectively.

With the strong commitment to managing all types of waste including food waste along circular economy principle, HMC Polymers as the initiator of the "PP Reborn Project", the first polypropylene (PP) plastic waste management platform in Thailand has joined the "Silom Model Project" to contribute as an organization in reducing global food waste which amounts to approximately 2.5 billion tons per year. These food wastes contribute to the generation of methane gas as a greenhouse gas that accelerates global warming up to 25 times more than carbon dioxide.
