New Products and Strategies Seminar

HMC Polymers recently hosted its first technical seminar for 2014 at JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok. Over 100 customers attended the seminar entitled: "2014 Outlooks and HMC’s New Products".

The event was opened by HMC President, Khun Supachoke Liamkaeo, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees.

Khun Supachoke commented: "On November of last year, HMC celebrated its 30th year in business. This has been a period which has seen steady growth and significant product innovation. Our company is proud to be based here in Thailand and we continue to be very optimistic about the future. Of course, without you, HMC would not be the company it is today. We thank you sincerely."

Following the short address, the seminar began with a full program that commenced with an informative presentation from Khun Nattapong Samit-Ampaipisarn, Senior Vice President, International Banking at Bangkok Bank Plc. who discussed the "Economics Outlook and Strategies for China and the ASEAN region in 2014." Khun Nattapong currently serves as Senior Vice President, International Banking Group, with Bangkok Bank and is in charge of the treasury management of the bank's overseas branches.

The next presenter was Mr. JP Nah, Director, Polyolefins Asia at IHS Chemical, which provides market information and analytics. JP Nah currently covers Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) in the Asia region contributing to the IHS market advisory publications, as well as supporting various business advisory activities in Asia. His session covered the "Rise of On-purpose Propylene Based Polypropylene and its effects".

Dr. Andreas Goeldel, HMC's Business Innovation and PP Solutions Manager then presented news of "Novel Product Innovation for polypropylene" and detailed a number of innovative products just released or in the pipeline for the HMC product portfolio. A key point raised was the vital role played by HMC customer collaboration toward the development of new grades that address market needs in Thailand and the region.

And finally, to ensure the energy within the seminar room remained balanced and positive – Feng Shui master Khun Tossporn Sritula enlightened the audience on The Year of the Horse.

As usual for HMC technical seminars, this event was well attended by our customers who were keen to learn about the new developments now available or coming soon. Attendees enjoyed the chance to view the display of products and applications during the break and lunch session. The seminar also provided HMC management with the welcome opportunity to meet with our valued customers and better understand their production and market requirements.
