The ASEAN Plastics Awards is a key industry award program created to raise the standard of plastic manufacturing in the ASEAN region. This year, the category winners of the 2nd ASEAN Plastics Awards, will be announced and awarded at the “Plastic Night 2016” Gala Dinner to be held on Friday 16th September at the Thai Army Club, Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road, Bangkok, Thailand.

The ASEAN Plastics Awards are being arranged and sponsored by AFPI (ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries) which was founded in 1981 by integrating the national Plastics Industrial Associations amongst ASEAN countries.
Award Submissions - Product Categories:
The ASEAN Plastics Awards will be judged in the following categories:
- Houseware Products
Trays, bowls, plates, utensils, trash cans, tables, chairs, furniture and other plastic containers. - Rigid Packaging (Food)
Soft drink bottles, water bottles, juice bottles, ready-to-eat food containers, instant noodle cups, etc. - Rigid Packaging (Non-food)
Oil containers, chemical bottles, detergent bottles, secondary packaging, etc. - Flexible Packaging
Stand up pouches, form-fill-seal sachets for coffee, non-dairy creamer, ketchup, etc. - Personal Care Medical & Healthcare Products and Packaging
Shampoo bottles, blister packs, pill containers, pharmaceutical bottles, cosmetic jars, cream tubes, syringes, saline bottles, sample collection tubes, toothbrushes, syringes, saline bottles, sample collection tubes, toothbrushes, etc. - Construction Products
Pipe, construction equipments, construction parts - Disposable Products
Spoons, forks, chopsticks, straws, thin plastic bags, etc. - Electrical, Automotive, and Other Durable Products/Parts
Category Awards:
- Supreme Award (overall): The judges will select from the winners of each of the main categories.
- Gold Award: For the winner of each of the main categories.
- Silver Award and Bronze Award: for the runners-up of each of the main categories
Special Awards:
- Green or Sustainable Awards
A product that has been designed with the objective of minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy. The Sustainable and Green Design Award, has been especially established to honor companies, institutions and designers who have respect for the environment and who plan for a better future. - Innovation Awards
Including innovation in product design, raw material and manufacturing processes.
Who is eligible to participate?
- To raise the standard of the plastic manufacturing in ASEAN region
- To improve the quality and aesthetics of plastic products and encourage the value added creation of plastic products
- To promote the innovation in plastic products
- To collaborate and work closely among the ASEAN plastic manufacturers
- To focus more on valued added plastic products, good quality and environmental-friendly
Also, the 2016 A-Plas exhibition will be organized in connection with the ASEAN Plastics Award, ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries and Plastic Night. A-PLAS 2016 will feature the latest range of innovative products and services in the areas of machines and equipment, semi-finished products, technical parts including integrated solutions for the plastics industry.
HMC is looking forward to meeting valued customers and prospects at A-Plas (September 14-17) and discussing the many new aspects of our business including exciting new directions for latest PP grades and customer service strategy. HMC will be participating with associate company PTT at A-Plas 2016 with a combined exhibit booth. The PTTGC booth B1 will be located in Hall 102 at the BITEC Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.

What is AFPI?
The ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI) was founded in 1981 by integrating the national Plastics Industrial Associations amongst ASEAN countries. The AFPI, now with seven members, seeks to promote intra-ASEAN economic cooperation and coordination in the field of plastic industry. Its other purpose is to develop and initiate preparation and implementation of plans, programs and projects that will promote and advance intra-ASEAN plastic industries and trade.
