Customer Study Trip 2016

HMC Polymers was pleased to welcome foreign customers to Thailand for its annual customer study trip. Held on July 14, 2016, 30 international customers visited the HMC Map Ta Phut plants located in the Rayong province of Thailand.

Attendees came from countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong and Australia to learn first hand how HMC operates from incoming delivery and handling of raw materials, to the complete production and quality control process, to packaging and logistics.

To view and understand all aspects of the world class HMC operation in some detail, customers were guided through a very full program. Some of the key functions visited at the Map Ta Phut location included a close look at the PP plant central control room, laboratory and extruder facility. Also, seabulk loading and warehousing were part of the tour. In addition, Dr. Andreas Neumann, HMC Senior Department Manager, Business Innovation and Technology presented a wide range of PP grades and product applications to participants in the HMC Product Showroom.

The primary objective for the annual Study Trip is to build customer trust and confidence in HMC products and service. The trip also allows our customers to better understand how HMC's operational, environmental and safety practices deliver consistently high quality PP grades with a process that is constantly being upgraded with improvements for long term sustainability.
