HMC Visits A. Schulman
On August 21, 2018 HMC Polymers' joint venture associate LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world, announced it had completed the acquisition of A. Schulman, Inc., a leading global supplier of high-performance plastic compounds, composites and powders.

In line with those potential opportunities and future cooperation, a group of HMC Polymers executives made a recent technical visit to A. Schulman in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The visit was part of the ongoing inter-company plan to establish new business development focusing on Terpolymer resins. A. Schulman has recently set up an Advanced Polyolefin Solutions Center to coordinate its polyolefin business.
The acquisition more than doubles LyondellBasell's existing compounding business and broadens the company's reach into growing, high-margin end markets such as automotive, construction materials, electronic goods and packaging.
