In 4Q 2020, HMC Polymers Company Limited (HMC) commenced issuance of Thai Baht unsubordinated and unsecured debentures. We now wish to advise interested parties that as of early November, 2020 the bond allocation was fully sold and is no longer available.

We would like to thank all participating investors. The proceeds of the debentures will be used to refinance our existing bank loans and for working capital.

An initial Investor Roadshow was conducted on September 22, 2020 followed by a Plant Visit on September 23, 2020. In preparation for the issuance of Debentures, Fitch Ratings (Thailand) Co., Ltd. rated HMC as A-(tha)/Negative on September 17, 2020.

 

HMC Visits Major Investors | FY2020 Update | March 18, 2021

Following the successful Debenture Issuance in late 2020, a group from the HMC Investor Relations Team visited several major investors. On March 18th, 2021, the HMC group met with 3 Saving Cooperatives who have major holdings of HMC debentures to provide latest updates on HMC’s annual performance and to express our appreciation for their confidence in HMC's operational excellence and strategic planning.

The HMC Investor Relations group led by Ms. Angkanee Soonthornsawad, Vice President - Finance, Accounting, and Corporate Support, Mr. Panithan Sirirattanaphonkun, Corporate Finance Manager, and Ms. Nusra Tangchittsukthavorn, Corporate Communication Manager visited Saving Cooperatives of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), Saving Cooperatives of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), and Saving Cooperatives of PTT (PTT).

Letter to Bondholders | January 7, 2021

Further to the disclosure to bondholders of the information dated December 1, 2020 (detailed below) regarding a fire incident at one of our blending silos, HMC Polymers Co., Ltd. (HMC) would like to provide an update on the investigation that our safety and technical staff and the third party expert have performed to establish the cause.

It has been determined that hydrocarbon passing into the blending silo started the fire incident. HMC and the third party expert have prepared and completed safety measures and an incident investigation report. In addition, HMC has repaired the damaged equipment at the blending silo making it fit for operation once again. The incident investigation report was submitted to Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) at Map Ta Phut. Upon the approval by IEAT, HMC resumed the operation of Production Line 3 from December 19, 2020 onwards.

Debenture Closing Ceremony | December 23, 2020
 
Closing Ceremony for HMC’s Inaugural Debenture Offering
On December 23, 2020, HMC conducted a closing ceremony for its inaugural offering of 4 sets of debentures with a total worth of 5,000 million Baht at HMC Polymers' Corporate Headquarters in Bangkok. At this occasion, the Bond arrangers offered a commemorative plaque to mark the outstanding success of the offering.



Attending the event were: Khun Siridech Kumwongdee, President HMC Polymers; Khun Angkanee Soonthornsawad, Vice President - Finance, Accounting and Corporate Support; Khun Pornchai Pichitwutikorn, Vice President - Strategy, Business Management and Supply Chain; and Khun Chookiat Kosintrakarn, Vice President - Sales & Innovation; together with the 3 Bond arrangers; Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, Kasikorn Bank Public Company Limited and Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited.

This is the first offering of debentures by HMC Polymers. The company received excellent support from institutional and high net worth investors, more than doubling the company's target with a final total subscription of more than 10,000 million Baht.

HMC Polymers thanks all investors for their confidence in the management and operation of HMC Polymers and for their support of this important first debenture issuance.


Letter to Bondholders | December 1, 2020

On November 30, 2020 at around 16:00 hrs., there was a fire at one of HMC Polymers' blending silos (300 tons) which is located at the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province. At around 17:00 hrs., HMC managed to control the situation and extinguish the fire successfully.  Nobody was injured during this accident in which the appropriate emergency action plan was taken accordingly.

The initial assessment shows that the damage is limited with no significant impact to HMC operations. For further assessment, PP Production Line 3 has been temporarily paused.

Nevertheless, HMC has a comprehensive insurance policy covering fire loss which is in line with the industry standards. Our coverage includes property damage and business interruption.

Strong Linkage with Shareholders
HMC is a propylene off-taker of PTTGC. PTTGC considers HMC as its key vehicle in the PP business. HMC has a non-compete arrangement with PTTGC. PTTGC and LyondellBasell appoint the majority of HMC's directors and some key management personnel.

A Leader in South-East Asian PP Production
HMC's capacity will increase to about 1.1 million tonnes per annum by 2022, making it the largest PP producer in the region after its new PP production line 4 is completed.

Focus on High-Value-Added Products
HMC focuses on differentiated and specialty products, which have lower competition and higher margins. The proportion of sales of these products increased to around 46% in 2019 from about 35% in 2015.
