HMC Receives CSR-DIW Awards

The Department of Industrial Work, Ministry of Industry has awarded HMC Polymers twice in 2012 with the CSR-DIW Continuous Award, and the CSR-DIW Supply Chain Award.

The CSR-DIW award program stands for Corporate Social Responsibility and is organized by the Department of Industrial Work (Ministry of Industry) which gives the awards to companies who have participated in and successfully passed the stringent conditions and requirements of each award following the department information transfer and auditing processes.

The CSR-DIW awards are based on a similar concept to ISO 9001, 9002 and 14001 – standards which HMC Polymers is proud to have attained.

HMC has received the CSR-DIW Continuous Award consecutively for three years since 2010. The company also received the CSR-DIW Network Award last year in 2011. This year we collaborated closely with supply chain providers; SMC Logistics Co., Ltd. and Raiyar Saeng-aroon Garden Part., and are pleased to have achieved a CSR-DIW Supply Chain Award for 2012.

After accepting the awards at the Award Presentation Event at Impact Convention Center, Bangkok on 19 Dec 2012, HMC President, Niels Nielsen commented: “We take our responsibility to operate in a safe and reliable manner very seriously. Managing our production and services to ensure the health, well-being and safety of employees, contractors, customers, and the public is paramount to everything we do at HMC. The CSR awards are affirmation that our HSE programs in place are industry best standard. They also confirm that our staff are implementing in all areas as required and we thank them for a job well done. Nevertheless, at HMC we do not take HSE performance for granted and we are always seeking improvement across all aspects of our operations.”

CSR-DIW started the award program in 2008. So far, 321 companies including HMC Polymers, have received the awards. The award concept is to promote community involvement and development in areas including education and culture, employment creation, skills development and health. After receiving a CSR-DIW award, companies can apply for the Continuous Award and other awards every year based on the successful completion of refresher courses and operational audits by the Ministry of Industry.

The CSR-DIW Supply Chain Award is designed for companies who have previously received a CSR DIW award and who collaborate with other suppliers on joint projects requiring a unified approach to the DIW social responsibility requirements.
