Here at HMC Polymers we have noticed an increasing demand from customers for non-animal based products in the Asian market from converters, brand owners and end-users.

Many additives commonly used in Polyolefins are synthesized from saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, typically stearic acid. Such fatty acids can be isolated from either animal fat or vegetable oils. Fatty acid derivatives from animal or vegetable sources are chemically identical and their derivatives do carry an identical CAS-No. independent of their origin.

HMC has historically qualified multiples of these different additives from various suppliers and supply sources for use in our Polypropylene products.

Responding to the market demand for non-animal based products, HMC Polymers is pleased to inform our customers that our operations are now completely free of any animal-based substances and will only supply products to the market which are 100% non-animal based.
