HMC Polymers is pleased to announce the implementation of its new Warehouse Management System (WMS) with QR Codes that will be implemented and fully operational in early October 2016.

The new state-of-the-art system has been the subject of considerable focus at HMC as we strive to improve our overall process and increase our efficiency and system accuracy in the handling and shipment of product to our customers throughout the region.

The new WMS system will provide real time information of material type and storage, batches and complete shipping and tracking details through a rapid data system providing comprehensive information on demand.

How does it work?

Each of the three HMC Map Ta Phut warehouses is divided into designated areas for the storage of products and for order fulfillment ready for shipping.

Using a new state-of-the-art labeller system for printing and applying QR code stickers to palleted products, hand held scanner readers talk to newly installed wireless access points throughout the warehouses to locate the position of products and later track their selection and shipment via order processing.

The QR coding registers the product name, batch number, pallet number and net weight, and tracks the product from the bagging process to storage and preparation for delivery and onto shipment to the customer.

For transition through the process and ultimately to shipping, the QR coded pallets are automatically scanned by handheld devices fitted to all forklift trucks coordinating the movement of orders through the entire process to shipment, thus reducing the potential for errors and improving efficiency.

Shipping is now significantly streamlined and electronically tracked throughout. At all stages from product bagging to shipment, the product is tracked against the customer order to ensure optimal efficiency combining accuracy and speed. That's something we can all get excited about!
