To ensure HMC PP products are responding rapidly to market needs and future trends HMC Polymers collaborates closely with our manufacturing customers. This allows our PP innovation programs to be well targeted and provide maximum benefit to HMC customers.

Similarly, we have close relationships with machine manufacturers who work with us to provide invaluable data and input to align our product capabilities with the latest machine designs, mould technology and production techniques.

On 26-27 June, 2019, and for the second time this year, HMC and leading manufacturer of high quality extrusion blow moulding machines, SMC Corporation Ltd. collaborated in a customer seminar and machine demonstration at the SMC Corporation in Kanjanaburi.

The seminar entitled “Innovative and Sustainable Development of the EBM Bottle Market", was attended by 40 converters and brand owners. The two day event was divided into a seminar (presentation) and an afternoon panel discussion on the first day at the Royal River Kwai Hotel, followed by a plant visit at the SMC Corporation plant site on the second day.

Also included was a small HMC product display promoting PP grades for personal care, home care and food packaging. Attendees were interested to view the latest materials and discuss details with HMC and SMC experts directly.

For the panel discussion, speakers including Khun Nantavat Prompoom, the Head of Product Design at Plastics Institute Of Thailand, were invited to provide information on the latest directions for Plastic Extrusion Blow Moulding product design as we proceed towards smart factories commonly known as Industrial 4.0. This is where machines are augmented with web connectivity and connected to systems that can visualise the entire production chain and make decisions.

The panel discussion was participated by Mrs. Kessaraporn Trongtorsak, the HMC PPS Sales Division Manager; Khun Nantavat Prompoom, Head of Product Design at Plastics Institute of Thailand; Mr.Jirawat Nuntajinda, SMC's Domestic Sales Manager and Mr. Anuwat Chalermklin, Electrical Engineering Supervisor for SMC Corporation Ltd. The discussion was facilitated by Mr. Adisak Angkaew, HMC's PPS Segment Sales Manager. Once again, the comments received by HMC and SMC from attendees were positive and the seminar focus on providing a knowledge-based connection between innovation in PP materials and the latest developments in EBM process machine technology was highly appreciated.

We sincerely thank all attendees for their interest and the SMC Corp. for co-hosting this outstanding event.
