On 26 March 2017, HMC representatives, Khun Chairat Pathithat (HSEQ Manager) and Khun Teerapong Jeamsuwan (Assistant Public Affairs Manager) received the “IEAT Environmental Good Governance Award 2016” for HMC's PP and PDH plants from Dr. Verapong Chaiperm, IEAT Governor and Khun Vitoon Uthim, Deputy Governor (Operation Function 3) respectively.

The HMC PP Plant received its seventh consecutive Gold Star Award and the HMC PDH plant received a Green Star Award. The awards are made by IEAT for environment and safety management within the Map Ta Phut and Hemaraj Industrial Estates. Each year, there are a limited number of plants recognised by IEAT for awards.

The IEAT Environmental Governance Awards are made annually to companies who pass the Authority's exacting environmental standards and governance principles and they are in recognition of the HMC’s environmental stewardship and reporting transparency in all aspects of operations in year 2016.

The IEAT environmental committee, which supervises programs to reduce emissions and waste from plants in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, inspected the HMC plant locations, together with community representatives and also local and government agencies, to assess the company in all aspects of environmental and HSE Management, including community support and promotion.

HMC Polymers’ performance was judged to be “Excellent.” HMC Polymers is unwavering in its commitment to the highest levels of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance. This includes managing resources and impacts to create products that contribute to sustainable development.

Through the environmental management programs in place, HMC employees at all levels are individually accountable for actions and results, and HSE management is at the heart of all operations. Full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations is a fundamental corporate practice at HMC, or where appropriate, the application of a relevant company standard if more stringent.

At HMC Polymers, we are committed to continuous improvement based on sound science, risk assessment and benefit analysis, and to measure, audit and communicate our HSE performance honestly to all stakeholders.

The Environment Management System (EMS) at HMC has been designed to manage environmental programs in a systematic way to establish and assess the effectiveness of procedures, and to set an environmental policy with clear and measurable objectives.

We thank and congratulate all HMC employees at our plants in Map Ta Phut once again for their contribution toward these prestigious awards.
