In Q2 of 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic was gathering momentum in Thailand and the region, HMC began a program to provide support through the donation and distribution of needed personal protective equipment (PPE).

As a first contribution phase, HMC provided 10,000 pieces of specially produced PPE made from our resins including isolation gowns and face shields. The PPE was donated to over 200 hospitals in Thailand.

That successful HMC community response program has continued without pause into 2021 with HMC employees generously donating over 9,000 isolation gowns and 12,000 shoe covers to protect frontline workers and medical staff. The PPE is made from spunbond fabric produced using Moplen HP561R polypropylene.

The donated PPE items have been distributed nationwide with a focus on field hospitals located in provinces which, due to the incidence of COVID-19, are identified as high risk and are strictly controlled. These provinces include Samutsakorn, Rayong, Pathumthani and others in the Eastern Thailand area. PPE has also been delivered to hospitals in Bangkok and the surrounding area.
