HMC exhibited at the recent Chinaplas 2018 held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Hongqiao, Shanghai, China from April 24-27, 2018. HMC Sales and Technical staff were located with displays at the booth of joint venture partner, PTT and interest from customers and prospects was high with a steady stream of visitors to the booth to discuss the capabilities of the HMC PP portfolio.

HMC was represented alongside our PTT affiliates to promote the benefits of our latest PP technology for the China and East Asia markets. HMC displayed content and samples describing PP leadership in Southeast Asia and product samples of our key applications for the Chinese market including:

HOMOPOLYMER Grades

  • Spunbond – Grades: HP561R, HP562T, HP563T
Benefits: Very high melt flow with narrow MWD resin for high speed spin capability with excellent fabric properties
  • Fibers & Textiles – Grade: HP553R
Benefits: Good gas fading resistance and low taste and odor transfer
  • Tape (Raffia) – Grades: HP400K, HP500L
Benefits: Good processability, good flexural-impact balance for high speed raffia machines
  • Film (IPP) – Grade: HP527N
Benefits: Good processability, good openability, high slip

IMPACT COPOLYMER Grades
  • Raffia Coating – Grade: EP229R, EP120P
Benefits: Applicable for high speed coating machines, good stiffness and adhesion

HMC's grades for Raffia offer a combination of high tenacity and excellent processability. The coating resins provide excellent manufacturing process stability and superior adhesion for high speed coating processes.

In addition, HMC's state-of-the-art spunbond and textile resins are suitable for the major textile conversion technologies and provide an excellent combination of tenacity, low fume generation and superior gas-fading characteristics suitable to obtain low denier spunbond filaments. Other benefits include very good spinability and high drawability for high tenacity yarn.

Chinaplas, which rotates annually between Guangzhou and Shanghai, has significantly grown its exhibition space to become one of the world's biggest international fairs for the Plastics and Rubber Industry.

Accompanying the growth of China's plastics and rubber industries for over 30 years, Chinaplas has become an important meeting and business platform for our industry and has also significantly contributed to the industry's rapid development in Asia and beyond. At present, Chinaplas is not only the largest plastics and rubber trade fair in Asia, it is also widely recognized by the industry as the 2nd most influential exhibition in the world behind the K Fair in Germany, the world's premier plastics and rubber trade fair.

The 4-day trade show event was a big success and the total number of visitors reached 180,701 with 47,900 (26.5%) coming from overseas.
