As the South East Asian producer of Purell polypropylene grades designed for the healthcare market, HMC was recently invited to attend a Thai Ministry of Industry event focused on life sciences and medical products.

The full day function was part of a new Thai Government initiative called the Thailand 4.0 Scheme designed to promote innovation and growth in targeted industries. It was co-organized by the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology, Mahidol University, and the Medical and Health Device Manufacturers Industry Club of The Federation of Thai Industries.

In addition to stimulating investment in the medical sector, the Government, through the Thailand 4.0 Scheme, also aims to make Thailand the medical hub of the ASEAN region.

The Thailand 4.0 Scheme focus industries are: automotive and auto parts, including electric vehicles; smart electronics; luxury, medical and wellness tourism; agriculture and biotechnology; food; robotics for industry; logistics and aviation; biofuels and biochemicals; digital; and medical services.

The event organizers signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on that day relating to cooperation in the area of healthcare, with the aim of facilitating exchange of medical technologies. The four organizations mentioned pledged to exchange information on research in advanced medical technology and training of medical personnel to further develop the Thailand healthcare industry.

HMC exhibited in the area designated for medical products including IV bags, IV bottles, nasal sprays, syringes and IV set (HMC grades: RP271G and RP271M) during the period 10.00 - 12.00.

HMC's Purell PP grades for the medical market are made under specific manufacturing procedures and offer consistency of formulation, continuity of supply, and are certified according to regulatory standards such as US Pharmacopeia, European Pharmacopeia and Drug Master File listing supporting the use of the resins in medical and pharmaceutical applications.
