HMC Polymers and joint venture associate, LyondellBasell came together recently on May 8-10 in Brisbane, Australia to exhibit at Ozwater'18.

Ozwater is the Australian Water Association’s international water conference and trade exhibition and Australia’s premier event on the water calendar. Returning to Brisbane this year to a world-class event and conference venue, thousands of water professionals from across Australia and internationally came together to share ideas on the future of water in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

At the event, HMC discussed the benefits and capabilities of Hostalen PP H2483, an impact copolymer for non-pressure pipes.

Dr. Andreas Neumann, HMC Polymers' Senior Department Manager, Business Innovation, was a speaker at the conference on May 8th presenting:

Hostalen PP H2483:
A Polypropylene Copolymer with Exceptional Mechanical Properties Balance.

The presentation covered the following key subjects:

  • Global Challenges - a Problem Statement
  • Sewage and Drainage Pipe Applications - Why Polypropylene?
  • HMC Polymers – Hostalen PP H2483

Hostalen PP H2483
HMC Polymer’s grade Hostalen PP H2483 is a unique polypropylene impact copolymer for non-pressure large diameter pipes featuring uniquely very high stiffness, good low temperature impact properties, high heat resistance, and excellent chemical resistance. Hostalen PP H2483 is suited for underground sewage and drainage systems as well as the injection moulding of fittings.

High Ring Stiffness:
PP-HM - Fulfilment of stringent European standards:
  • EN 1852 (Solid Wall Pipe)
  • EN 13476 (Double Wall Pipe)

Product Properties:
  • MFR (230/2.16):  0.3 dg/min
  • Density:  0.90 g/cm3
  • Tensile Str. at Yield:  32 MPa
  • Elongation at Yield:  9%
  • Flexural Modulus:  1800 MPa
  • Izod Impact at 23°C:  510 J/m
  • HDT:  110°C

Building on the success of 2017, Ozwater'18 used enhanced technological insights to drive the most exciting program yet. With streamlined processes across all components of the conference, and enhanced exhibitor interactions, Ozwater once again attracted a dynamic and diverse audience, from professionals working across industries relating to water, decision and policy makers through to students, scientists and researchers.

As leading suppliers of polypropylene for piping in the region, both HMC Polymers and LyondellBasell were proud to jointly contribute to this important industry event.
