Former HMC President Martyn Tickner presented a keynote paper to the 8th ICIS World Polyolefins Conference held on 3-4 April, 2019 at The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, Austria.

The theme of the 2 day international event was: Overcoming supply uncertainty with an evolving value chain. One of the key topics of the 2019 event was:
Polypropylene capacity in Southeast Asia in light of recent growth.

As part of his presentation, Khun Martyn discussed the factors that influence polypropylene import and export flows in this key region.

His presentation to the global audience was delivered on Wednesday 3rd April. The key discussion points were:

  • An overview of production and consumption in Southeast Asia.
  • Insight into how new capacities and trade tariffs will affect import and export flows from the region.
  • Consideration of the extent to which the sustainability initiatives, economic or geo-political influences could change the status quo.

Khun Martyn's petrochemical work experience spans over 35 years, beginning with a role at Shell in the UK. Throughout his career, he has worked on global and regional strategy, business management, organisation change, M&A and IT project management roles across 7 different countries. He has been President of HMC Polymers for 2 years.
