HMC Polymers not only collaborates with customers to ensure our products address market needs, but we also work closely with machine manufacturers to align our product processing capabilities with the latest machine designs and moulding technology and application.

A recent joint seminar in Thailand attended by around 35 converters and brand-owners was conducted between HMC and SMC Corporation Ltd. the manufacturer of high quality extrusion blow moulding machines.

The seminar entitled “Innovative and Sustainable Development of the EBM Bottle Market” was held on April 3rd, 2019 at the Royal River Kwai Hotel in Kanchanaburi Province.

The event comprised a seminar presentation and a panel discussion regarding new polymer and machine development and innovations.

The discussion panel was facilitated by Mr. Adisak Angkaew, HMC PPS Segment Sales Manager, and the panelists included Mr. Thammarat Pitakchat, Division Head, R&D – SMC Electrical Dept., Mr. Somsak Kaewboonrueng, Assistant Sales Manager of SMC Corp., and Ms. Kessaraporn Trongtorsak, HMC PPS Sales Division Manager.

In addition, a small display of notable extrusion blow-moulded product examples was shown on the afternoon of 3rd April, followed by an informative SMC Corp. plant visit and machine demonstration the following day on 4th April.

The seminar provided an opportunity for both companies to explain their latest product innovations to the industry audience.

  • HMC promoted its EBM grades including Moplen grades RP6068, RP242G, RP6068, HP748H and Purell RP271G
  • SMC Corp. promoted their state-of-the-art EBM machine with “Energy Efficiency/Energy Saving Technology” using new advanced equipment including an IR Heater and Servo Pump.

The comments from attendees were encouraging and the seminar link and relationship between developments in PP materials and EBM process machine technology was highly appreciated.
