On September 23, HMC Polymers was recognised by the Department of Industrial Work, Thailand Ministry of Industry with the CSR-DIW Continuous Award for 2019 for the HMC PP and PDF plants. In addition, in the Industrial Promotion Program category, HMC was awarded with an honor certificate for Sustainable Social and Community Responsibility.

HMC is proud to have received the CSR-DIW award consecutively since 2010 continuing the company's best practice performance for Corporate Social Responsibility activities meeting the high standard as prescribed by the Department of Industrial Work. We are committed to building and maintaining a trusting and mutually beneficial long term relationship with our neighbouring communities.

The CSR-DIW award program stands for Corporate Social Responsibility and is organized by the Department of Industrial Work (Ministry of Industry) which gives the awards to companies who have participated in and successfully passed the stringent conditions and requirements of each award following the department information transfer and auditing processes.

The CSR-DIW awards are based on a similar concept to ISO 9001, 9002 and 14001 – standards which HMC Polymers has attained.

Commenting on the awards, HMC President Khun Martyn Tickner said: "We take our corporate responsibilities to operate our business in a safe and reliable manner very seriously indeed. Managing all aspects of our operations to ensure the health, well-being and safety of employees, contractors, customers, and the public is essential to everything we do here at HMC.

The CSR-DIW awards help to affirm the high standard of the HMC Polymers' HSE programs in place. They also recognise that our staff are effectively implementing the programs as required and we thank them sincerely for a job well done. Nevertheless, at HMC we do not take HSE performance for granted and we are always seeking areas of improvement across all aspects of our operations.”

CSR-DIW started the award program in 2008. The award concept is to promote community involvement and development in areas including education and culture, employment creation, skills development and health. After receiving a CSR-DIW award, companies can apply for the Continuous Award and other awards every year based on the successful completion of refresher courses and operational audits by the Ministry of Industry.

The CSR-DIW Supply Chain Award is designed for companies who have previously received a CSR DIW award and who collaborate with other suppliers on joint projects requiring a unified approach to the DIW social responsibility requirements.
