Health and Safety Engineer

Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist line management in establishing, developing and administering an adequate Health & Safety program.
  • Perform Health and Safety program assessments to measure and evaluate management compliance with plant’s HSE standards and communicate the results to employees and contractors.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are compliance with Thai regulation and International standard.
  • Accumulate and update all chemical data sheets, preparing chemical data signs for the place.
  • Consultation and management of chemical storage.
  • Conduct health risk assessment for health checkup program and follow up the results annually.
  • Analyze any abnormal checkup results of all employees and set programs for treatment.
  • Monitor working place conditions with Environment team and determine the cause of unexpected results.
  • Follow up the process of new contractor selection with procurement department and keep records.
  • Evaluate temporary and permanent contractor performance.
  • Organize the HSE Committee meeting.
  • Implement the Health & Safety activities such as the monthly Safety Meeting, Global & HMC Safety Day, BBS, Unsafe Conditions.
  • Maintain Health & Safety training programs which will provide employees and contractors with a clear understanding of their safety responsibilities, as established by the plant safety program.
  • Be an authorized person of HSEQ department in the duty roster team.
  • Field inspections and routine visits of plant areas and direct involvement in all phases of the plant operation activities.
  • Survey and monitor all radioactive sources and send reports to the government.
  • Provide radioactive badges for employees who use radio devices and record results per individual.
  • Support, investigate and follow corrective & preventive actions.
  • Authorize and make decisions on safety permits for hot work and confined space permits.
  • Coordinate with third parties for annual building inspections.
  • Update and send all Health and Safety reports to the government.
  • Advise or recommend the purchase of new equipment and materials with safety implications including protective equipment for personnel.
  • Act as a focal point for Near miss/Unsafe reports and BBSO summaries and updates.
  • Participate in TRA and MOC reviews.
  • Coordinate with ISO system.
  • Support Health & Safety data and analyse EIA report or other Environment reports.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Assistant Manager, Health and Safety.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health Safety and Security or related field.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in Occupational Health in the petrochemical industry.
  • Proficiency in English writing and verbal communication; TOEIC 550 is required.
  • Able to use MS Office.
  • Possess and have experience in technical and operational safety responsibility: hazard chemical storage, radioactive and others.
