New PP Squeezed Ketchup and Chili Sauce Bottles Combined the Flexibility and Clarity

In spite of its fragility and weight, glass is widely used to package many types of seasoning. Considering the breakthrough and alternatives for food packaging, a prominent leader in ketchup and seasoning 'ROZA' by Hi-Q Food Products Co., Ltd., has introduced new packaging from copolymer PP resins produced by HMC Polymers to replace glass bottles for ketchup and chili sauce.

Although, these squeezed clarified plastic bottles have been widely used in Europe and USA, it was first introduced in Thai market by Well Pack Innovation Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Toyo Seikan Japan. Not only the new PP provides superior design to glass bottles, but also allows just a light squeeze and is more safe for children. These new squeezed bottles successfully attained product differentiation and consumer convenience purposes.

Well Pack Innovation Co., Ltd. a leading innovative packaging converter in Thailand, has taken an exciting step in selecting Moplene RP241G, a random copolymer polypropylene that offers better clarity and flexibility and is good organoleptically. These 500ml. squeezed bottles are blown molded from a multi-layer extrusion incorporating an oxygen and moisture barrier properties to extend shelf life of the sauces.

After this packaging has been launched recently, “ROZA” has turned into being the market leader of ketchup in the modern trade market acquiring 45% of the market share. (Bangkokbizweek Newspaper published on 4 May 2007)

Apart from modern design, these recyclable, break resistant, shatterproof plastic bottles, made with Moplene RP241G are ideal for food and beverages that are sensitive to oxygen and can be filled at high temperatures.
