3rd PolyPropylene (PP Line 3) Plant Progress

An Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract has been signed in July 2007 between HMC and GS E&C (South Korean EPC contractor based in Seoul, with offices in Bangkok).

Engineering and Procurement worked started in July 2007, and Construction started at site end of 2007 with some site preparation and modification work. The 2 old flares have been demolished and replaced by a new one.

Early 2008, civil work started, as well as underground networks (cooling water, fire water, sewers, etc…) erection. Then, buildings and structures started to be erected.

The main events of the first months of 2009 have been the completion and commissioning of the utilities section (cooling towers, cooling water systems, fire water tank, etc…), as well as of the extrusion section, now under commissioning. All equipments have been installed in the polymerization section, and piping work is progressing well. Still a large part of work in instrumentation and electricity need to be finalized over the coming weeks to allow commissioning according to plan.
