HMC Polymers New Expansion Project

Over the past year and a half, HMC Polymers has been working devotedly on our two new plants

The new Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) plant has a production capacity of 300,000 tons of propylene per year and utilizes UOP's Oleflex Technology.

The new 3rd Polypropylene (PP) plant has a production capacity of 300,000 tons per year and utilizes LyondellBasell Industries' Spherizone Technology.

The construction phase for each plant is nearing completion and commissioning activities are in progress. It is presently anticipated that both plants will startup in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

In terms of safety, at the end of March 2009, the overall Total Recordable Rate for both new plants has been good at 0.5 recordable injuries per million man-hours worked, with more than 16 million man-hours spent on the project to-date. There have been no Lost Time Injuries.
